Servant - the extremely unofficial homepage

One of my many in-process projects is creating an online reference about the Christian rock band Servant. They were very influential in my teens, because they played straight forward rock at a time when much Christian music was (as described by another favorite band, Daniel Amos) "sugar cane in cellophane". Not only that, but their lyrics were both strongly evangelistic and strongly committed to social justice... especially for the poor. Several months ago I was surprised that despite their prominence and influence in the 1970s and 1980s, there is little information on the internet about them.

I created some web pages about the band a few months ago, but am now in the process of moving them into the Drupal content management system. If you're interested, take a look at Servant - the extremely unofficial homepage.

email address to contribute Servant items

I've now put my email address in the footer.
Please email any Servant-related stuff there.
Thanks.

I have some additional info,

I have some additional info, Eric Odell forum comments from Feb. 2005 concerning his days with Servant, and complete lyrics from all their albums that I want to send you for your site.

Plus, Retroactive Records is officially reissuing the first 4 albums on CD this spring and next spring, with input from the Brocks!

CristianDiscs.com is offering pre-ordering for the first two albums which are due early May. I am hoping to contribute the 1978 demo of "I'm Gonna Live" from Matt Spransy and Doug Pinnick's "other" Servant in time to use as a bonus track on Rockin' Revival...

Let me know your email address so I can send you the stuff for your site.

MARK

Christian Rock Group Servant!

Hi, I was doing some reminiscing last night and was thinking about some of my favorite Christian Bands I use to listen to. Servant was one of my favorites!!! I am really glad to come across this site. I appreciate all the information you have provided about the band and their history. I have fond memories seeing them in concert and I know I still have pictures of their concert and cool laser show somewhere around here. If you are interested I can send them to you, I just need your email address. I think I even have the ticket stub! I would love a 2006 update of where are they now, the only updates I have found on them are close to 10 or more years old. Anyway, just a note of thanks and to say, sure wish I could get CD versions of their albums or MP3. Maybe someone out there has something like that available? Thanks again!
